Perry wrestlers split triangular with Boone, host ADM

Perry 126-pounder Gisaveri Niyibizi needed just 74 seconds to score a pin against Carlisle's Jordan Watts Thursday.

ADEL — Perry scored a 50-30 win over Boone before dropping a 45-35 dual to ADM in Raccoon River Conference mat action Tuesday.

Gisaveri Niyibizi (126 pounds) and Jacob Thompson (145) each had a pair of wins at the triangular, with each grappler winning twice by pin. Mana Martinez (113) and Tanner Darr (160) both had two victories, with both receiving a pair of forfeits.

Eli Saemisch scored a 15-0 technical fall, in 4 minutes, 37 seconds, against Alex Wheeler of Boone at 170 pounds, then posted a 17-1 tech fall, in 3:07, over Brandon Davis of ADM.

Kade VanKirk (132) was 1-1 with a pin, with Alonzo Zarate (195) 1-1 with a win by decision, while Zach Stewart was 1-1 with a forfeit victory. Adan Medina received a forfeit at 182 against Boone to finish 1-1, with Juan Campos 1-1 with a forfeit.

Perry did not record wins at 120, 152 and 285 while leaving 106 open.

The Bluejays will return to action Thursday when they join the Ram of Greene County for a triangular at Ballard, with the first matches to begin at 5:30 p.m. Perry will then host the Raccoon River Conference tournament Saturday, with wrestling to start at 10 a.m.
