Perry’s Kruger, W-G’s DeHoet honored by IGCA

Seasons plagued by weather problems will soon turn to postseason action for both boys and girls golf teams.

Perry junior Alyssa Kruger and Woodward-Granger sophomore Cierra DeHoet were recently named to their respective All-District teams by the Iowa Golf Coaches Association.

Kruger was chosen in Class 4A, District 2 and DeHoet in Class 2A, District 2.

Kruger had a nine-hole average score of 49.17 and an 18-hole average of 93.5. She had a nine-hole low round of 44 and an 18-hole low of 92, generating a 48.6 average (combined nine and 18-hole scores adjusted by course rating). Kruger was two strokes short of advancing to the state tournament this season.

DeHoet averaged 53 strokes in nine-hole play and 105.67 in 18-hole action, with low rounds of 48 and of 102, respectively. She finished the season with a combined averaged of 54.33 (nine and 18 hole scores adjusted by course rating).

Joel Happel is the Perry girls coach, with David Combs coaching both W-G teams.
