Monday’s quarterly meeting of 100+ People for Perry donors club made a $6,500 gift to the McCreary Foundation for the purchase a new oven for use in the many popular community meals at the McCreary Community Building.

The charitable group, consisting of local residents, couples and other community supporters, first heard three members each pitch a different project, and the membership as a whole then voted for one, with the McCreary Foundation chosen to receive donations totaling $6,500.

Each member then wrote a $100 check to the McCreary Foundation. The new oven will benefit such popular programs as the Congregate Meals, Wednesday Fellowship and other community events.

The mission of 100+ People for Perry “is to invest in Perry’s future through supporting current charities/non-profits/worthy projects which advance the quality of life,” according to the group’s mission statement.

Since its formation in 2016, 100+ People for Perry has contributed $52,500 to eight local projects. New members are always welcome.
