“We’ve never started out the season 4-0 before!” said Perry High School swimming teach coach Jean Dowd, ecstatic over the strong start by the 11-member Bluejay squad.
Following victories over Algona High School Aug. 24 and Indianola High School Aug. 28, the PHS swimmers traveled to Des Moines Hoover High School Thursday in order to swim in a dual meet against both Hoover and Des Moines North High School.
The format of the meet had swimmers compete once with the meet scored three ways. Each team was allowed two entries per event.
Perry defeated Hoover 83 to 8, and they beat North 64-30, extending their unbeaten record to 4-0. The Bluejays also set five personal best times Thursday night.
The next action for the Jayette swimmers will be at home on Thursday, Sept. 7 at the McCreary Community Building at 6:30 p.m.
