LAST MEETING — Panorama’s freshman quarterback had his best night of the season, as Luke South hit on 18-of-30 passes for 264 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-0 Panther win. Eagle Grove was held to 108 rushing and 60 passing yards.

ABOUT THE PANTHERS — Panorama has started slow in several games, and last Friday were unable to finish off a late rally in falling at South Hamilton, 18-15.

South is 38-79 for 447 yards and two TDs through the air while being intercepted four times. He has rushed 51 times for 232 yards and three scores.

Blaine Barber has rushed for five TDs, caught a scoring pass and found the end zone on both a kick and a punt return. His 16 receptions for 164 years leads the receiving corps, with Conner Meinecke (11-115, 1 TD) and Tanner Godfrey (4-75) also prime targets.

The ground game has amassed 1,104 yards on 191 carries and scored 17 times, with the work done by a series of ball carriers. Brody Rickheim leads the way with 364 yards and six TDs on 54 rushes, with Gunnar Grunsted (33-152, 1 TD) and Barber (16-139, 5 TDs) also key parts of the mix.

The defense has come away with nine interceptions and five fumble recoveries, with Trey Cobb and Grunsted responsible for 35 tackles apiece.

ABOUT THE EAGLES — Eagle Grove and Panorama have each played three district games, but have yet to face a common opponent. The Eagles opened D6 play with a 41-20 win at West Central Valley before falling, 21-6, to NW Webster and 37-0 to No. 4 Van Meter, with the latter two contests at home.

Brayden Lyman is 13-28-2 for 315 yards and four scores in the air. Nikolas Padilla (6-127, 1 TD) and Ryan Smith (2-107, 2 TDs) have been the critical receivers.

Smith is a big play waiting to happen. His two catches — for 44 yards and for 63 — were both touchdowns, and he has an 82-yard kick return for a score as well. Defensively, he has five of the eight interceptions on the team.

Lyman has carried 70 times for 377 yards and three TDs and Evan Anderson 87 times for 309 yards and two scores while Padilla has three TDs and 238 yards on 62 hauls.

The offense has produced 12 touchdowns this season, eight of which are from longer than 25 yards.

OUTLOOK — Dual-threat quarterbacks have caused problems for Panorama, but the Panthers have their own weapon in South.

Panorama will need to take the lead early, and if they can lead by more than one score and force Eagle Grove to become one-dimensional will greatly increase their chances. Look for the hosts to try and enforce their will on the ground in the early going.
