Playoff softball is rapidly approaching, and teams recently learned the who, where and when of their postseason assignments.[wpedon id=”82220″ align=”center”]
Perry (9-16) will face host Carroll (8-14) July 5 in a Class 4A Region 3 first round game. The winner advances to Adel July 7, where fourth-ranked ADM (26-4) awaits. Boone (12-16) faces Webster City (12-9) in the other opening game, with the winner to visit No. 12 Norwalk (12-12) July 7. The Regional Final will be played July 10 at the highest remaining seed.
In Class 2A Region 3, Woodward-Granger (2-23) will travel to Lytton July 2 to face host South Central Calhoun (5-10) in a first round game. The winner will face host and 15th-ranked Ogden (14-6) July 3 in one quarterfinal while Earlham (18-9) hosts South Hamilton (7-12) in the other quarterfinal on the bottom of the bracket.
The top half of the 2A R3 bracket has East Sac County (3-12) hosting NW Webster (2-13) in a July 2 first round game. The winner travels to Irwin to face No. 2 IKM-Manning (19-1) in a July 3 quarterfinal, with AC/GC (8-9) visiting Panorama (8-7) July 3 in the other quarterfinal.
Top half semifinals will be played July 6 in Irwin and the bottom half in Ogden, with the highest remaining seed hosting the Region 3 Final July 9.
All games start at 7 p.m. and all records and rankings were as of June 24.
