The deadline is approaching to brighten an elderly person’s day with a basket from the Perry Lutheran Homes’ Project Deliver the LOVE.

Project Deliver the LOVE will accept names in nomination until April 22 of elders at least 75 years old who live in Perry or within a 10-mile radius of Perry and who would be pleased by a personally delivered basket filled with provisions of hope and encouragement.

The baskets will be delivered Wednesday, May 4, and 150 volunteers are also needed for a variety of tasks, including assembling the baskets at the Perry Lutheran Homes Eden Acres Campus and delivering them to local seniors.

Volunteers can work a 1.5-hour shift between 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In order to deliver baskets, volunteers must be at least 16 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Basket assemblers must be at least 12 years old.

Donations of medium or large baskets are needed and can be dropped off at the Eden Acres Campus.
