PSST collects pair of lopsided victories

GLIDDEN — The Perry Summer Swim Team posted a win of 364-120 over host Glidden Thursday after overpowering host Manning, 419-83, June 25.

Both of Perry’s opponents have much smaller teams. Glidden had just 15 youngsters swimming against Perry’s 38, with Manning having only 14 swimmers, most of those 10 years or younger.

Joel Storey (11-12) and Garrett Winey (13-14) each had five wins at Glidden for the PSST boys, with Isaac Winey (9-10) and Ethan Winey (15-18) both winning three times. Dylan Winey (15-18) won twice, with Eli McCarty (8U), Bryan Anderson and Townes Wilson (both 9-10), Josh Pohl (13-14) and Drew Storey (15-18) also posting wins.

Kilee Hughes (8U) had four wins to lead the Perry girls, with Aleah Karolus (9-10), Quin Mahler-Moreno (11-12) and Jaylene Karolus and Sophia McDevitt (both 13-14) all winning three times apiece. Dannah Karolus (15-18) had two victories, with Maddie McDevitt and Lilly Riley (both 11-12) also posting wins.

Four wins apiece from Joel Storey (11-12) and Garrett Winey (13-14) led Perry Tuesday, with Dysen Deardorff (8U), Isaac Winey (9-10) and Ethan Winey (15-18) collecting three wins apiece. Dylan Winey (15-18) had two wins, with Renaud Deardorff and Eli McCarty (both 8U), Boomer Deardorff and Townes Wilson (both 9-10), Diego Diaz-Cardenas (11-12), Josh Pohl (13-14) and Drew Storey (15-18) providing single wins.

Aleah Karolus (9-10) had four wins and Zoe Hibbert and Quin Mahler-Moreno (both 11-12), Jaylene Karolus and Sophia McDevitt (both 13-14) and Dannah Karolus (15-18) tallying three wins apiece. Sarah Vaughn (15-18) had two wins for Perry, with Anna Ridnour (15-18) also contributing a win.

Perry hosts Sac City Tuesday, with the postponed meet at Denison now scheduled for July 9.
