PSST swimmers cap regular season with win at Jefferson

JEFFERSON — The Perry Summer Swim Team was in action one time last week and made the most of the opportunity with a 338-286 win over rival Jefferson.[wpedon id=”85410″ align=”left”]

Maddie McDevitt (9-10), Quin Mahler-Moreno and Sophia McDevitt (both 11-12) and Jaylene Karolus (13-14) all came away with five victories for the PSST girls, with Izzy Powell and Sarah Prombo (both 8U) and Aleah Karolus (9-10) each claiming four wins.

Hailey Greiner (13-14) had three wins, with Zoe Hibbert, Addison Huntington, Lydia Nelsen, Jenna Nelson and Lilly Riley (all 11-12) double winners while Dannah Karolus (15-18) also picked up a victory.

Andrew Dowd and Ethan Winey (both 15-18) led the PSST boys side with four wins apiece, with Isaac Winey (8U) and Eli Noble and Drew Storey (both 15-18) triple-victors.

Kane Mahler-Moreno (9-10) had two wins for Perry, with Dysen Deardorff (8U), Joel Storey (11-12) and the 13-14 quartet of Cristopher Gonzalez, Marcus Nelsen, Isaac Noble and Sam Ridnour all posted single victories.

Perry is off until the Iowa West Swim Conference meet Saturday. The event will be held in the Carroll Rec Center and will begin at 11 a.m.
