The Raccoon Valley Bank presented a $2,500 donation check to the Perry Food Pantry Wednesday, one of four food outlets in Dallas County to receive the bank’s support.
The bank began donating the $10,000 in 2020 after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the annual Raccoon Valley Bank Business Holiday Open House, for many years a high point in the holiday season.
“The bank, the staff and the Garst family are very supportive of the pantries’ efforts,” said Raccoon Valley Bank President Terry Nielsen at Wednesday’s ceremony.
Lou Hoger, site manager of the Perry Food Pantry, thanked the bank for its continued support and briefly outlined the pantry’s impact on the food-insecure population in and around Perry.
