The Society of Retired Experts (SORE) coffee group met Friday at the Perry Perk coffeehouse in order to celebrate the 82nd anniversary of the birth of one of the group’s veteran members: Ray Harden of Perry.
Joining Harden were SORE members John Andorf, Jim Caufield, Nick Eakins, Kin Finer, Lou Hoger, Larry Laborde, Don Ruggle, Joseph Shelly, Tom Ulrich and Richard Wede.
The Women of Wonder (WOW) coffee group was also on hand to sing “Happy Birthday” to Harden and to celebrate the birthday of WOW member Karol Mueller. Joining Mueller were Shirley Ehlers, Kathy Fox, Margaret Harden, Lois Hoger, Elsie Mace, Connie McGuire and Myrna Whitehead.
The Hardens’ daughter, Christine Mary Hayden of North Carolina, treated the SORE and WOW members to coffee and rolls in honor of her father’s birth.
Harden also made the members aware that the Panther Creek Brethren Church will hold its annual summer ice cream social on Sunday, July 14 from 5-7 p.m. at 24529 J Ave. in rural Adel.
