Iowa Realty’s Wayde Burkhart was welcomed Wednesday as the newest member of the Perry Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Chamber offices in downtown Perry.
Burkhart said he has been in the real estate business since 2014 and currently has listings in Perry, Grimes, Boone, Dallas Center, Ankeny and Woodward.
About 20 fellow Chamber members braved the wet weather to welcome Burkhart and his wife, Julie Burkhart, into Perry’s commercial community, with time given to networking over refreshments prior to the cutting of the ribbon.
“Right now the market for houses in the $200,000 and lower range is three to four months,” he said. “Houses in the $450,000 and higher range are more like seven to nine months.”
Burkhart said Iowa Realty listings appear on some 25 social media sites and can be found statewide.
Julie Burkhart spoke briefly about the PRESBY Daycare Center in Perry, where she is the director.
