Pancakes, sausage and beverages were served up fresh at the Rippey United Methodist Church Sunday, with donations supporting the Women at the Well Congregation at the Iowa Correctional Facility for Women in Mitchellville.
“Our hours are a little shorter,” said Nancy Hanaman of Rippey, “because there’s so much going on today, like graduation parties in Grand Junction.”
The rhubarb sauce and apple sauce toppings were particularly delicious, said Doug Wood of Perry, whose knowledge of church dinners is rivaled only by that of Dan Haymond, who reportedly missed Sunday’s Rippey event because “he’s taking his grandkids to Burger King,” Wood said.
