Robert Joseph Jacobsen was born Sept. 8, 1943, born in Jefferson, Iowa, the son of Robert and Alfreda Jacobsen. He passed away June 23, 2022, in Reno, Nevada.
As a child, Robert traveled a lot with his family. They would camp, fish, hike and climb mountains.
Robert was raised in Perry and graduated from Perry High School in 1961. He was very popular in high school and was even elected PHS Class President.
He married Jody Gardner in 1962, and they had two children, Robert and Barbara.
After high school, Robert moved to Ames, were he worked for the Ames Daily Tribune.
He later moved to Carson City, Nevada, and then to Reno. He enjoyed the casino and would go whenever he had the chance.
Robert is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Chris and Edna Jacobsen; maternal grandparents, Alfred and Harriet Davis; parents, Robert and Alfreda Jacobsen; and brother, Chris Jacobsen.
He is survived by his son, Robert Jacobsen of Roseville, California; daughter, Barbara Sundquist of Carson City, Nevada; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy Saccopoulos and Mary Jacobsen; and other extended family.
There will be no services. Robert was cremated in Reno.
