CARROLL — Perry junior Jaylene Karolus continued making her mark on school record book Tuesday with a pair of Jayette all-time clockings during a double dual with Algona and host Carroll.

Carroll was a 66-28 winner over Perry and an 81-13 victor against Algona, with Perry topping Algona, 53-40. The split decision leaves Perry with a final dual record of 9-5 for the season.

Karolus had already reset the school mark in the 100 freestyle earlier this season, and on Tuesday lowered, for a third time, her own new standard by finishing first against both opponents in 57.28 seconds, a drop of .29 ticks.

She had earlier placed her name in the PHS record book in the 50 free by placing 1-2 (first against Algona, second against Carroll) in 25.83 seconds. Her effort topped the old standard of 25.98 established by Christine Dowd in 2000.

Jenna Nelson was 1-3 in the 200 free in 2 minutes, 26.63 seconds, with Rhylan Agan swimming a new personal best time of 3:11.63.

Sophia McDevitt was a double-winner in the 200 Individual Medley in 2:25.62, with McDevitt 1-2 (1:08.55) and Emily Dowd (third to Algona, in 1:30.32) swimming in the 100 backstroke while Amanda Holwegner was 1-3 in the 100 breaststroke in 1:24.35.

Emily Dowd had a new personal best clocking of 6:55.57 while placing 2-3 in the 500 free, with Zoe Hibbert 1-2 in the 100 butterfly in 1:13.15. The pair were joined by Holwegner and McDevitt in placing 1-3 in the 200 medley relay in 2:12.93.

The foursome of Karolus, Holwegner, Nelson, and Hibbert were 1-3 in the 200 free in 1:53.79, with McDevitt, Nelson, Hibbert, and Karolus first overall against both foes in the 400 free relay in 4:13.48.

Perry will swim in a Regional Meet at Johnston Nov. 7 at 12 p.m.
