WOODWARD — Twelve players entered the score book for Panorama Tuesday as the Panthers waltzed to a 61-20 win over Woodward-Granger in WCAC girls cage play.
W-G (2-7, 0-6) did not lack for effort or energy, but simply could not match the greater size — and, especially, a decided advantage in speed — possessed by Panorama (10-1, 7-0).
The Panthers had a 6-4 lead three minutes into the game, then went on a 14-0 run to close the first quarter. A 17-3 edge in the second period put the halftime score at 37-7 and brought Panorama’s reserved onto the court for most of the second half.
The guests held a 50-10 lead after three frames, with a continuous clock winding through the final 10 minutes of action.
Morgan Johnk had 13 points and Bailey Beckman 10 to lead Panorama. Devyn Kemble had nine points, Hope Wilderman seven and Ella Waddle six, with Anna Holloway scoring four points. Vallerie Storesund scored three points, with two points from Kellie Prince, Lydia Knapp, Nicole Rolfes and Shey Storesund and a Brooke Halterman free throw accounting for the remainder of the offense.
Alyssa Bice led the hosts with 10 points. Kayley Dresback added five points and Mae Anderson two, with Natalie Helbling, Faith Kuehl and Lisa Pitman each hitting one free throw.
Both teams have now concluded the 2017 portion of their schedule, with both resuming action Jan. 2 when Panorama visits Ogden and W-G travels to Earlham.
