The sixth annual Kids Fest will "Discover Space" Saturday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Perry Public Library.

With the popular “Discover Space” exhibition providing the theme, the sixth annual Kids Fest will be held Saturday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in and around the Perry Public Library.

The event is free and open to the public, with kids and adults gathering to enjoy space games, crafts, mini-golf, face painting, balloon twisting, petting zoo and other entertainments.

A lunch of hot dog or pork sandwich, chips, cookie, and water will be available for $1.

After traveling around the U.S. for three years, the National Science Foundation-sponsored program, “Discover Space: Exploring Our Solar System and Beyond,” entered the orbit of the Perry Public Library earlier this month with its 800-square-foot, multi-station exhibit.

The Discover Space exhibit also provides the theme for the library’s 2018 Summer Reading Program.

Discover Space Kids Fest sponsors include the Bock Family Foundation, Friends of the Perry Public Library, Hy-Vee, Fareway, Tyson Fresh Meats, Hometown Heritage, City of Perry, Perry Volunteer Fire Department, Perry Parks and Recreation Department, Perry Public Works Department, Perry Rotary Club, Perry Kiwanis Club, Dallas County Conservation and Dallas County Hospital.
