Despite Saturday morning’s dodgy road conditions, some 25 ladies of the Perry Piecemaker Quilt Guild gathered at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Perry for a presentation by Bonnie Nelson and Mary Ann Holcomb followed by open sewing.

The Perry Piecemaker Quilt Guild is now in its 17th year. The group meets monthly for programs in quilting techniques and also makes a spring shopping trip.

Members participate in a variety of community projects for non-profit agencies, volunteering to make military quilts, baby quilts for hospitals, table toppers for nursing homes and many other worthy causes, including gifts for family members and other loved ones.

Joanne Warnock, seated, demonstrated the finer points of free-motion quilting to about a dozen members of the Perry Piecemaker Quilt Guild during the group’s three-day retreat in 2016.
