Not quite recess, not quite an assembly and not the judged contest of years past, Tuesday afternoon’s Halloween Day fun at St. Patrick’s Catholic School still managed to be filled with plenty of energy and smiles.
Students were allowed to mingle in the gym at 2:15 p.m. with each grade brought on stage for a photo opportunity and a chance for each student to show their fellows their own costume.
The youngsters were delighted to see that the faculty also wore costumes, adding to the festive mood. No candy was given away, but after several events around the community on Monday even the most ardent Trick or Treater understood.
“I counted and had 280 pieces of candy from last night,” one girl said. “I guess its OK if I don’t get 20 more.”
