Many householders brought their hazardous wastes to be discarded Saturday, with the line at one point backing up on Willis Avenue to the Raccoon River Valley Trail.
Perry Public Works Department workers are standing by until noon to receive used tires at the low-cast drop-off event at the Perry Recycle Center at 14325 Ivy Place.
After last June’s pandemic-postponed, city-sponsored collection of tires and household hazardous wastes, this year’s event brought forth a large volume of both discards.
The events continue until noon Saturday, with toxins taken to 908 Willis Ave. and tires to the Perry Recycle Center at 14325 Ivy Place.
