“Honor thy father” was an easy Commandment to keep last Sunday when the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Perry served a Father’s Day steak dinner to a crowd of about 70.[wpedon id=”85410″ align=”left”]

Top sirloin steaks from Fareway were grilled to perfection and served with a baked potato, garlic bread and tossed salad, with homemade pie and ice cream for dessert. The full spread cost $11.

“We had a great night of food and fellowship,” said Jill Burkhart of Trinity Evangelical.

The dinner was held in conjunction with Trinity’s Sundaes on Sunday series from 5-8 p.m. each Sunday in summer and features ice cream cones, sundaes, burgers, brats, pie and beverages, all served served in air-conditioned comfort for $10.

A special meal of pulled pork and smoked mac-and-cheese dinner is planned for Sunday, July 15 from 5-8 p.m. The church is located at 2715 Iowa St. in Perry.
