Trio of Hawks combine to no-hit visiting Wildcats

GRANGER — Woodward-Granger made short work of West Central Valley Monday, cruising to a 12-0 win in five innings of WCAC baseball.

Collin Nardini, Jay Dorenkamp and Trevor Simmons combined to keep the Wildcats (0-4) hitless. Nardini pitched 2-2/3 innings, Dorenkamp 1-1/3 frames and Simmons one. Simmons and Nardini each walked one batter, with Dorenkamp striking out four, Nardini three and Simmons two.

W-G (6-1-1, 3-1-1) plated five runs in their first at-bat and another run in their second, with the final six runs crossing the plate in the bottom of the fourth.

Reese Jamison walked twice and was hit by a pitch and finished with three runs scored. Bryce Achenbach had a single, a double and a walk with two runs and two RBIs while Colby Tague had two hits, two runs and a RBI.

Simmons, Worth Henry, Pacey Moats and Jack Grell all had singles and scored once, with Brandon Worley walking once and scoring. Moats finished with two RBIs and Simmons one, with Tate Lettow also driving in a run.

W-G is at Martensdale-St. Marys tonight before hosting Madrid Wednesday. They are at ADM Thursday and then host South Tama Friday.
