A get-out-the-vote rally was held Saturday morning at the McCreary Community Building, with special emphasis placed on reaching Spanish-speaking voters in the Perry area.
The rec center’s community room was filled with the tempting aroma of tamales and hot chocolate as Warren Varley of Stuart, Democrat candidate for the Iowa House district 20 seat, and Eddie Diaz of Perry, a bilingual citizen, provided information to local voters and encouraged their participation in the Tuesday, Nov. 6 general eletion.
