Freedom Winds, a sextet drawn from the ranks of the U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America, will perform Sunday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. in the Perry Performing Arts Center, 1200 18th St. in Perry. The concert is part of the Perry Fine Arts series.

The six virtuoso Airman Musicians of Freedom Winds adds percussion to the traditional woodwind quintet instrumentation to enhance the standard literature and increase their musical capabilities.

Members of the group have diverse musical interests, which leads to programs with something for everyone. In addition to showcasing traditional woodwind quintet pieces, performances take audiences on a tour of some of the most beautiful and exciting music from various cultures around the world.

Freedom Winds’ diverse repertoire also includes jazz and ragtime classics, along with popular themes from Broadway’s hit shows to Hollywood’s greatest films.

Perry Fine Arts concerts are free and open to the public. Free-will donations are accepted. The Perry Performing Arts Center is handicapped accessible.
