Perry's JacobThompson comes down the ball and steps into the end zone for a 29-yard touchdown on a fourth-quarter pass from Wyatt Halling last Friday against Webster City at Dewey Field.

Even during the most difficult of times there are always good plays and excellent individual efforts worthy of noting, and such has been the case this season for the Perry football team, who, despite being 0-8, have continued to play hard.

That was the case again last Friday, when Perry dropped a 42-6 contest at Dewey Field to fifth-rated and undefeated Webster City.

Thanks again this week to Perry assistant coach Matt Hardy for passing along these five plays worthy of your attention.

Adan Medina (35) is untouched on a blitz and sacks Lynx quarterback Avery Fuhs (24) for a 10-yard loss.

Defensive tackle Joe Olvera (72) sheds a block and squashes Fuhs at the line of scrimmage.

Ryan Rathje (4) hits Eli Saemisch (27) with a short pass. Blocks from wide outs Taviar Lucas (13) and Marcus Meri (84) help start the play, with Kevin Lopez (75) throwing a downfield block that allowed Saemisch to bolt for 15 yards.

Lynx tailback Gavin Dinsdale tries to cut downfield off right tackle, but defensive end Solomon Pierce (83) strings out the play. Dinsdale breaks free from Pierce, but the pursuit of Olvera (72) and the closing of Jacob Thompson (22) blow up the play.

Backup quarterback Wyatt Halling (3) lofts a pass toward Thompson (22), who beats defensive back Zane Carter (82) for possession to score a 29-yard touchdown.

Perry will conclude their season Friday when they host Humboldt at Dewey Field. Fans are asked to bring non-perishable food items to the game, with all donations used to restock the PHS food pantry. No gift is too small; all can be dropped off at the south admission booth or at the Jays Nest near the concession stand.
