A medley of hits from the 1950s were performed by the third, fourth and fifth grade classes Thursday at the St. Patrick's Catholic School Spring Concert.

Thursday’s Spring Concert at St. Patrick’s Catholic School had a little bit for everyone.

From traditional children’s favorites like “I Know An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly” and “On Top of Spaghetti” to the disco-era “YMCA” and a medley of 1950s tunes and more, the kindergarten through eighth grade students generated plenty of toe-tapping and many smiles.

The concert was held in four stages, with the kindergarten class performing by themselves while the first and second grade classes formed another group. Grades three, four and five sang together, with the middle school students taking to the risers to cap the concert with three songs of their own.

From the nervous shyness of the kindergartners to the somewhat uncomfortable nervousness of the oldest students, the concert had a little something for everyone, moms, dads, grandparents and others making sure plenty of photographs were taken and much video recorded.

Refreshments were held afterward, but not before music instructor Pam Kenkel was presented with a floral bouquet from the student body in gratitude for the time spent preparing the over 100 students for the concert.
