W-G baseball trounces Earlham

GRANGER — Host Woodward-Granger started the carousel early Monday, plating 10 runs in the first inning and adding three in the second and three in the fourth to post a 16-2 WCAC win over Earlham.[wpedon id=”82220″ align=”center”]

Brandon Worley had an excess of help while on the hill. He allowed two runs (one earned) on seven hits while striking out three in picking up the win.

Matt Buch had a single, double, and triple with three RBIs while Bryce Achenbach hit two singles, scored twice, drove in two runs and stole a base. Cole Theisen had two singles, a double and a RBI while Joe Rhodes was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

Trevor Simmons helped the hosts with a triple, two runs and a RBI, with Noah Gleason scoring twice.

W-G is at AC/GC tonight before playing a twin bill at Woodward Academy Thursday (first game at 3:15 p.m.) with a trip to Des Moines North slated for Friday.
