WOODWARD — One day after junior defensive back Bryce Achenbach and senior linebacker Gabe Yingst earned All-State plaudits, Woodward-Granger has released the names of those earning All-District honors, including Academic All-District recognition.
W-G finished 5-4 overall and 2-3 in Class 1A District 7. The Hawks lost to a pair of eventual semifinalists as well as one other playoff qualifier, and finished with the highest RPI rating not to earn an at-large playoff bid.
Yingst and Achenbach were First Team All-District choices at their defensive positions, with running back Tate Lettow, offensive lineman Jackson Newland and defensive lineman Kade Polich also named to the First Team.
Second Team honors where granted to defensive back Cale Pritchett, defensive lineman Joe Rhodes, offensive lineman Kris Kammerer and utility player Reese Jamison.
Matt Hansen, Keith Braunschweig and Jon Jones were named to the Honorable Mention list.
Achenbach, Jamison, Jay Dorenkamp, Jack Grell, Pacey Moats and Justin Wheeler were all named to the Academic All-District team.
