WOODWARD — A rare Thursday WCAC battle went to visiting Ogden after the Bulldogs claimed a low-scoring affair with Woodward-Granger. The game, postponed from Jan. 18, saw the guests grab an early lead they would never relinquish en route to a 38-31 win.

Ogden (10-6, 6-6) opened a 13-5 first quarter lead and entered the half owning a 22-10 advantage. A four-point edge in the third period moved the score to 33-17, and while W-G (7-10, 4-8) outscored the visitors, 14-5, in the final eight minutes it was not enough to overturn the outcome.

Emma Anderson’s nine points led W-G, with Natalie Helbling scoring seven points and Katelyn Scharlau six. Kayley Dresback provided five points, with Mae Anderson and Darby Nixon scoring two points apiece.

Meredith Adreon led all scorers with 18 points for the Bulldogs. Gabby Ross tallied eight points, Denali Loecker and Joelle Consler four points apiece, with both Abbi Lentz and Allea Klauenberg contributing two points.

W-G will host Madrid Tuesday and visit Des Moines Christian Friday as the regular season begins to wind down.
