W-G girls golf competes in Regional Final Monday

The Woodward-Granger boys had their season end Monday with a loss to Interstate-35.

NEOLA — Woodward-Granger’s hopes for a trip to the Class 2A girls state golf tournament came up short Monday during their Region 2 Final Monday.

Strong teams from Van Meter (344) and Treynor (360) claimed the top two spots to advance, with W-G third at 382. Shenandoah (393) and Red Oak (418) were also in action.

Seniors Emma Greiner and Ava Petersen led W-G with rounds of 92 and of 96, respectively. McKenna Carroll, a freshman, also recorded a 96, with senior Emily Trewet shooting a 98.

Also in action for the Hawks were sophomore Lindsey Mescher (103) and junior Rian Jamison (113).
