W-G matmen fall to pair of RRC teams

BONDURANT — Raccoon River Conference teams Ballard and host Bondurant-Farrar both scored wins over the Woodward-Granger wrestlers Thursday.

Ballard topped W-G, 41-24, with B-F posting a 46-28 win. Ballard was a 39-30 winner over B-F in the other match.

Cody Fisher and Tyler Lawrenson, wrestling at 220 and 285 pounds, respectively, were both 2-0, with each winning once by pin and once by forfeit while Joel Harney won a decision in his only appearance at 106.

Colt Palmer (132), Jayden Dorenkamp (138) and Gabe Yingst (160) were all 1-1, with each winning by pin. Cale Pritchett was 1-1 at 170 with a win by major decision, with Aidan Honkomp 1-1 at 113 with his win coming on a decision.

Matthew White (120), Dilynn Lewiston (126), Dustin Harney (145), Joebe Nevins (152) and Nathniel Rosen (195) were unable to score a victory in either of their two matches, with the Hawks leaving the 182-pound bracket open in both duals.

W-G visits Ogden for the WCAC Tournament Saturday and will then cap their pre-holiday schedule with a visit to PCM Tuesday.
