W-G's Cody Fisher pins a Carroll grappler at the Perry Invite last season. Fisher, ranked first in 2A at 220, won twice Tuesday to improve to 17-0.

MONROE — Tuesday’s wrestling duals for Woodward-Granger each ended with scores of 49-30. Unfortunately for the Hawks, they were on the short end of both, falling to host PCM and to Newton.

PCM was a 43-33 winner over Newton in the other dual of the evening.

Cody Fisher improved to 17-0 on the season with a pair of victories — both by pinfall — at 220 pounds. The junior is now 119-9 for his career.

Heavyweight Tyler Lawrenson was also 2-0 for W-G, with each of his wins coming on pins. Colt Palmer matched his two teammates with a pair of wins to finish 2-0 at 138.

Aidan Honkomp (113), Gabe Yingst (160) and Cale Pritchett (170) were all 1-1 with pinfall victories, with Joel Harney 1-1 at 106 with a forfeit.

Dilynn Lewiston (120), Matthew White (126), Corbyn Atwell (132), Dustin Harney (145), Devan Brown (152) and Nathaniel Rosen (195) were also in action for the Hawks but were all unable to come up with a win. The Hawks left the 182-pound weight class uncontested.

W-G is off for the holiday break and will return to action Jan. 5 at Winterset.
