Old memories were shared and new memories made Saturday evening at the annual Washington Township Consolidated School pork dinner.

washington-township-school-logoThe Washington Township Consolidated School Foundation (WTCSF) hosted its annual pork loin dinner Saturday evening, with a large turnout of diners and a few latecomers caught in the downpour.

This year’s pork supply was provided by Gary Geneser of Granger through the Iowa Pork Producers Association, according to WTCSF advisory board member Tom Bice.

Assisting Bice in the task of service were fellow WTCS alumnae Susan Andrews, Lin Eide, Barb Fox, Jon West and Barry Halling.

About 20 residents from the Perry Lutheran Home’s two campuses attended the annual feast, with Maureen Haglund, the facility’s marketing director coordinating the outing.

Another dozen residents of Lakeside Village in Panora also attended the meal and enjoyed the fellowship is the newly established and remodeled Dorothy Wright Memorial Meeting Room.

The community noted with sadness the passing in July of the WTCS’s eldest graduates: Wlima McManus of Adel and Gladys Reves of Minburn.

“These two wonderful ladies graced our events and supported their school for many years,” said advisory board member Susan Andrews. “Like Dorothy Wright, they are greatly missed.”
