A Waukee man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly assaulted his daughter because she did not come straight home from school.

Fawaz Ahmad Abdulrahman, 44, of 660 Sixth St., Waukee, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and child endangerment with injury.

The incident began about 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Sixth Street, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Abdulrahman allegedly assaulted her “in a bathroom at their residence” by “holding her by the hair, forcefully cutting her hair off and hitting her in the head with electric clippers used for hair cutting,” according to court records.

In a video recording of the assault, it appears that Abdulrahman then “drags her by the hair out of the bathroom,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that Abdulrahman also “hit her stomach, and she was experiencing pain,” according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim “a cut to her forehead going back into her hairline,” and she “complained of head pain,” according to court records.

Abdulrahman is held in the Dallas County on a $6,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 29 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

  1. Stereotypes happen for a reason. They are proven over and over time again. This Middle Eastern man, likely Muslim, thought shaving his daughter’s head with clippers, hitting her head and leaving a laceration with the clippers, striking her in the abdomen to leave no further marks was appropriate punishment of a female for being a few minutes late arriving home after school. It will escalate if left unchecked and could result in sexual assault or murder. It’s not okay.
