A West Des Moines man was arrested Thursday afternoon after allegedly assaulting a woman in her Waukee apartment.

Andrew Kenneth Kitelinger, 27, of 8602 Westown Parkway, #603, West Des Moines, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault.

The incident began about 4:15 p.m. Thursday, when officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of Fourth Street in Waukee.

According to court records, the victim told police that Kitelinger “utilized both hands and shoved her in the chest, causing her to hit the door frame of their bedroom, leaving a mark, and then shoved again in the living room.”

Kitelinger consented to a preliminary breath test, which returned results of .229, according to court records.

The alleged assailant is held in the Dallas County Jail, awaiting an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.

Kitelinger was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault in 2012 in Cass County District Court.
