Perry's Kaleb Olejniczak dives safely back to first base against Ballard earlier this season..

CARLISLE — Perry scored twice in the top of the third inning Monday to grab a 2-1 lead over host Carlisle, only to see the Wildcats strike for five runs in the bottom of the frame en route to a 6-2 win in Raccoon River Conference baseball.

Avery Meister did his best to deliver Perry (0-15, 0-10) the upset, limiting a potent Carlisle (14-7, 8-3) attack to five hits and a walk in six innings. He allowed six runs, half of which were unearned.

Meister had two singles for the Jays, the lone Perry hits of the game.

Kato Dougan and Kaleb Olejniczak each walked and scored in the third for Perry, with Keghan West driving in one run. West and Caden Steva also drew walks, with Dougan stealing two bases and Olejniczak one.

Lucas Olson collected the win on the bump, after allowing just two runs on two hits and four walks in six innings. He finished with 10 strikeouts. Caleb Frost needed just six pitches to tally a strikeout and two other outs in his swift inning of work on the rubber.

Troy Schnathorst had two singles and two RBIs for the hosts, with Blake Deal adding a two-run base hit.

Perry hosts Bondurant-Farrar tonight before traveling to Slater Thursday to face Ballard.
