Wilma Jean “Jean” Turner went home to be with her heavenly father and other family members when she passed away at the Perry Lutheran Homes Eden Acres Campus in Perry, Iowa, on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

Wilma Jean Schwab, daughter of Clifford and Merle (Jones) Schwab, was born Oct. 6, 1922, on a farm in Lincoln Township in Dallas County, Iowa.

Jean married Faris Walter Turner on March 1, 1947, in Atchison, Kansas. Two children were born to this union, Kayla Jean in 1949 and Faris Kent in 1951.

Kayla was killed in an automobile accident in March 1966, and her death devastated the whole family.

A treasured moment in Jean’s life was celebrating her 99th birthday with great anticipation of celebrating her 100th in October.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 16 in the Irene Barbara Lund Memorial Chapel on the Eden Acres Campus of Perry Lutheran Homes, with inurnment of cremains at West Linn Cemetery near Linden, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Casual attire is requested.

She is survived by her son, Kent, of Redfield; sister-in-law, Nancy Turner, of Linden; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.

Memorials will be directed to the Redfield EMS. Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson Family Funeral Home-Stuart Chapel, and online condolences may be left at www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
