A Wisconsin woman was arrested Sunday after allegedly assaulting her fiance at a West Des Moines motel.
Annique Christina Birtzer, 40, of 909 Scribner St., Spooner, Wisconsin, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 10:15 a.m. Sunday in the 7200 block of Vista Drive in West Des Moines, where officers of the West Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
According to court records, Birtzer “reported throwing a punch at the victim” and inflicted “a scratch on his abdomen.”
Birtzer is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
