Woodward-Granger makes quick work of Ogden

WOODWARD — Dynamic serving combined with dominant play at the net to carry Woodward-Granger to a 3-0 WCAC sweep of visiting Ogden Tuesday.

The Hawk netters improved to 8-13 overall and 4-2 in WCAC play while Ogden fell to 1-5 and 1-5. W-G won with scores of 25-19, 25-12, and 25-7.

W-G servers blistered the Ogden defense with 22 total aces and converted on 67-of-74 (90.5 percent) total serves.

Darby Nixon was 18-of-19 with six aces and Natalie Weaver 8-of-10 with five aces. Audrey Simmons was 11-13-4, Elly Polich 14-15-3, and Brayten Ashman 9-9-2, with Faith Keuhl 7-8-2.

Polich and Weaver each had 11 kills, with Grace Deputy providing five. Simmons had two kills and Nixon and Ashman one each, with Simmons making 15 assists and Polich nine while Nixon and Weaver and one apiece.

Nine digs from Polich from Polich led the team, with Keuhl making five, Weaver four, Nixon three and Simmons two.

W-G is at Madrid Tuesday before hosting Pleasantville Thursday when their season resumes next week.
