A Woodward man was arrested early Friday for allegedly choking and slapping his female roommate. It was his second arrest for assault in four weeks.
Scott Robert Hansen, 45, of 311 Main St., Woodward, was charged with domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began when a Woodward Police Department Officer responded to a report of “a female being held against her will,” according to court records.
After speaking with the parties, the officer determined Hansen “choked” the female and “struck” her “with an open hand on the left side of her face. This strike resulted in a bruise and swelling above her left eye.”
Hansen was held in the Dallas County Jail priot to being released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing March 19 in Dallas County District Court.
Hansen was arrested Jan. 30 on a charge with assault causing bodily injury or mental illness. According to court records, Hansen allegedly “struck the victim three times in the chest. Once the victim fell to the ground, Hansen kicked the victim in the chest” and then allegedly “yelled toward the victim that he should just kill him” while walking away from the victim. He is scheduled for arraignment March 19 in Dallas County District Court.
Hansen was convicted of domestic abuse assault Oct. 31, 2019, in Dallas County District Court in connection with an August 2019 incident involving Hansen and a female in which he “struck her in the face two times.”
Hansen was convicted of domestic abuse assault and four counts of first-degree harassment in 2013 in Dallas County District Court. He was convicted of second degree harassment in 2009 in Dallas County District Court.
