OGDEN, Iowa — A school record of nine Panorama wrestlers will be in competition Saturday at the Class 1A District 5 tourney in Pleasantville.
The Panthers advanced after either winning their weight class or finishing as the runner-up during Sectional 10 action in Ogden.
Eight Panthers are assured of a spot with a ninth, heavyweight Issac Monroy-Nunez, almost certainly moving up from third to second due to an injury ahead of him, although that was not official as of press time.
Sectional champs face section 9 runner-ups and vice versa. The Section 9 tourney was held at Truro, with host Interstate-35, Earlham, Martensdale-St. Marys, Mt. Ayr, Nodaway Valley, SE Warren/Melcher-Dallas, Wayne and district host Pleasantville involved.
Ogden and Panorama were 1-2 in team points with 230 and 206, respectively, with Van Meter third at 130. Lynnville-Sully was fourth at 126, with Colfax-Mingo (120), Baxter (114) and Collins-Maxwell (76) completing the field.
Two seniors, a sophomore and a freshman placed first for Panorama in Ogden, with a senior, two sophomores and two freshmen finishing second.

Monroy-Nunez (13-20, So.) was 1-2 with a pin and a loss by prior defeat at 285, but an injury may see him boosted to second, with the Panorama coaching staff awaiting word on Monroy-Nunez’s status.
