Fire consumed a house south of Perry Saturday morning.
There were no injuries in the blaze at 17376 K Trail.
A 911 caller reported a fully engulfed structure about 5:15 a.m. By the time the Perry Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene about 5:25 a.m., the house was beyond salvation.
Radio traffic indicated live ammunition was exploding inside the structure. A Dallas County Deputy Sheriff confirmed the report.
The one-story log home, built in 1977 on a 22-acre parcel, is owned by Billy and Nicole Heinkel, according to county records.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this hour. The Perry Volunteer Fire Department is investigating.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s office and Dallas County EMS also responded.
