A high-speed pursuit down U.S. Highway 169 from Webster County ended in Minburn Sunday night with the detainment of three teenage males.

MINBURN, Iowa — A high-speed pursuit down U.S. Highway 169 from Webster County ended in Minburn Sunday night with the detainment of three teenage males, one of whom claimed he was not in the vehicle.

The chase began shortly before 8 p.m. in Fort Dodge after a Webster County Deputy Sheriff attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a speeding Audi, according to law enforcement radio traffic.

The driver of the Audi did not stop but proceeded southbound on U.S. Highway 169 through Webster and Boone counties and into Dallas County at speeds at times exceeding 120 mph, according to law enforcement radio traffic.

The vehicle came to rest about 8:20 p.m. just east of U.S. Highway 169 in the 300 block of Walnut Street in Minburn.

The teens were taken into custody, at least one at gunpoint, according to law enforcement radio traffic. Charges are pending.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s office, Boone County Sheriff’s office and Iowa State Patrol assisted the Webster County Sheriff’s office in the pursuit and arrests.
