The long holiday weekend came to a chilly end about 5:30 a.m. Monday for the residents of the Willis Avenue Apartments when a fire alarm led to an evacuation of the 38-unit complex at 913 Willis Ave.
Young and old alike could be seen bundled in fleece and sporting college-themed lounge pants as public safety officials with the Perry Police Department and Perry Volunteer Fire Department investigated.
There were no apparent injuries in the incident.
The cause of the alarm is unknown at this hour. Smoke was reported on the third floor of the $6.8 million complex, which opened in June.
