An exciting fireworks display ended Woodward’s Friends and Neighbors Days with a bang — or more accurately, about 30 minutes of bangs, booms and enthusiastic cheering and hollering from viewers of all ages.
Many watched the fireworks from the comfort of the Woodward fire station-turned-beer-garden, where Des Moines-based band Hold On performed throughout the evening. Others ventured out into the dark in twos and threes to get a little closer to the high school practice football field, where the fireworks were being lit off.
If the sounds from the crowd were any indication, this year’s fireworks display was a rousing success!
