A fire in rural Dawson about 6:45 p.m. Thursday was brought under control in short order by firefighters from the Dawson and Perry stations of the Perry Volunteer Fire Department.
There were no injuries in the fire. The cause of the blaze is under investigation at this hour.
According to a witness on scene, no one was home in the 106-year-old two-story house at 13772 150th St. when smoke was seen coming from the structure and the fire department was called.
The home is owned by Robert and Janet Gilmore, according to county records.
Firefighters could be seen hydrating themselves as well as the house in Thursday evening’s 90-degree heat.
