A trailer hauling demolition debris from a mobile home was abandoned on a gravel road west of Perry Saturday night.

A motorist reported to the Perry Police Department about 7:45 p.m. that a pickup truck was pulling a trailer loaded with debris westbound on Park Street in Perry. The caller said debris was falling off the trailer and into the roadway.

The same caller reported to the Dallas County Sheriff’s office about 8 p.m. that the trailer was now sitting in the roadway in about the 17000 block of 130th Street, and the truck that had been hauling it was gone.

A Dallas County Deputy Sheriff responded, and contact was made with the Iowa Department of Transportation in regard to the apparently abandoned unit.

A similar incident occurred Nov. 18 north of Perry, where a trailer hauling demolition debris from the Northgate Estates in Perry struck a bridge and lost its load.  That incident occurred about 1 p.m. on 335th Street in Boone County.
